We ran into the same issue with Verizon FiOS. We inserted a Cisco 2921 router between our ASA firewall and the Verizon FIOS connection. We were stuck for hours! First leve rebooted the ONT remotely. NO luck. We then escalated to 2nd level. After a one hour wait, we got a call from 2nd level. WE SPENT 2 HOURS AND 47 MINUTES ON PHONE WITH THEM! MADDENING! They flushed some caches, but there were still IP addresses in our statis NAT pool that would never recover. One week later, after taking out the 2921 and going back to the ASA, we have two "dead" IP addresses. ????? Something's rotten in Denmark, and in Verizon's FIOS network....we are taking another crack with Verizon 2nd level to fix that tonight...

Agreed. Setting the ARP cache to 5 minutes would increase arp traffic by 24 times, which would result in approximately 48 more tiny packets every two hours. Considering I am averaging 3,400,000,000 packets per day... This additional 672 packets per day would increase my traffic by approximately 0.0000000016% ???
